“As a child who grew up in a traumatic home, our Calming Corner has been so important, not just for my son, but for me. First to "model" the process, but slowly it became my safe space, my place to reflect and breathe and give words to my big feelings. ”

I absolutely love these tool kits! I bought one for my son when he was 18 months to start teaching emotional intelligence. He is now 8 and easily communicates his feelings as well as shows empathy towards others. I use this kit at work to teach these same skills and have seen huge success. Highly recommend if you want to teach kids emotional regulation and mindfulness. Easy to use and understand, and easily adjustable for all age groups. It grows with the child, which is amazing, and can be used in a variety of settings!

We just got our box today! The girls went nuts opening it up. They loved all the faces and expressions and couldn’t wait to start having feelings to point them out and “play” I’m very grateful the materials are sturdy and can wipe off easily as we always seem to be sticky.

I have purchased 1 for myself and 1 for each of my 3 sons. We love it!

Actionable Calm — My favorite thing about this kit is how it presents calming as an actionable and reflective process. Learning we all have a hand on the steering wheel of our emotions takes time, but it is powerful learning that’s vitally needed in emotionally turbulent times.

I recommend this to any parent who is willing. . Emotional regulation unlocked, this is the key.

I'm a single foster mom — I'm a single foster mom and I use the time in tool kit to help teach kids from tough places learn about their emotions and to make their big emotions safe for them and me! I try to make sure we celebrate each day what we are feeling, good or bad, in a way that we enjoy. Sometimes we sing a song, or shout hooray. Especially if it is an emotion the world tells us is "bad". This is something I was not taught, so having a framework to guide me while guiding them is very important for our collective emotional well being. We also use the snuggle buddies and the travel time in toolkits for when we are not home, which with foster kids, we are usually on the go, and that is when we have the most troubles. Thanks for all your excellent tools and teachings along the way.

I was a student teacher for 5th grade and they had something like this "what color is it, is it hot or cold, where do you feel it in your body?" And then we'd walk them through the name and maybe why they're feeling frustrated and how to calm down. Visuals help! I love the Time-In ToolKit. It's wonderful to have her prepared early to identify what she's feeling, it'sl ok to feel that way, and how we can respond! The Tool-Kit is beautifully made and took the load off me to try and diy

Great product We at Nancy Akhavan Consulting purchased the toolkit for the K-3 teachers at an entire school. They are loving it and have used parts of it to set up a calm corner. The toolkit is also helping with lessons on redirecting negative feelings with strategies to help students self-regulate.

Amazing tool for kids of all levels of need I recommend this kit constantly to fellow moms of little ones; it helped bridge the gap for my ASD daughter from being overwhelmed with emotion to not only managing them but beginning to verbalize, starting with the things we learned from the toolkit. Will always recommend this item, it was an absolute game changer for us and turned parenting my special needs toddler from a battle into a bonding experience.

Time in My interactions with my children are based on the strategies suggested by the time in concept. My kids were older when I became familiar with Suzanne’s work, and yet the effect has been life changing. My children are thriving & I have given myself permission to be human & humane.

Never too early or late to start, huge benefits! I first heard about this kit from a mom friend and have been using it for about 5 years now with my now 7 year old daughter and 4 year old son. My 2 kids are very different but they have both responded so well and use our Calming Corner and the feelings poster often to help calm down and tell me how they are feeling. I really only use the Calming Strategies and Feelings posters so if the whole system seems a little overwhelming, at least use those and you'll still see huge benefits. A few months in to using it, my 2 year old got upset and, instead of having a meltdown, she said "I am disappointed because Daddy didn't throw the ball to me". That felt like such a win and there have been many more since!

The Gift that keeps on Giving Grateful to have stumbled upon Generation Mindful. I've used this toolkit since my daughter was about 1.5-2 & use it frequently with my Children's Yoga Students/Family Yoga Participants! It's such a great tool to get everyone - Caretaker/Child - involved in their emotional intelligence. My daughter loves the BRAVE card & keeps that one in her Time In corner. The cards are also amazing to use as card pulls for ice breakers & feeling idenfication.

I love my toolkit Being a mom is Harding and managing my own emotions is hard. I love our time in tool kit. It’s always a good reminder to me to take a minute to calm down when I’m upset. I use it to model my own self management and they love taking “time ins”. It helps build such a better connection than traditional time outs that can be so ostracizing.

An Awesome Approach to a Tremendous 3 YO « I want to go to the wall, I want to show you! » this is what my three YO can tell me when he wants to SHOW me how he feels. This quiet space has been a real game changer for my son who was exploding when not getting his way or feeling sad, bad or mad. Even daycare notes he’s able to really articulate his feelings and needs! He identifies and talks about feeling Sad or Happy, more recently Calm… We are working through the 3’s with a calmer less reactive approach. I love this space, Thank you Sofie

Definitely worth the buy!!! I absolutely love the kit we received!! I framed the posters and put them on the wall. Both our boys love the corner and it has helped immensely with the big feelings of a two year old! Definitely recommend!! Worth the money!

Great tools for big emotions! We have been pulling out these resources when emotions are big with my three year old and my five year old. We have all benefited from using!

Time In > Time Out I think that I benefit from Time Ins, even more than my children. I was put on time-out as a kid, and doing a time-in with my own children has helped me to be a more nurturing parent, less yelling and more empathizing. It's worth it!

Super helpful tool We have used the time in toolkit for several years with our 7 year old. It has given us a common language around feelings and helped teach our daughter to identify her feelings and find strategies to calm her body.

The BEST! The Time-In Toolkit comes with beautiful color posters ready to hang. My kids love looking at and naming all the emotions on the board. This kit is nice to hang in their play area so they can use it during both happy and challenging times. I highly recommend this kit!

Life saver Hi! I'm a mother of a 7 year old boy _. and we've been using the Time-In ToolKit:registered: for over 5 years now , we loved it and just passed it on to a shelter as my son feels more supported with his tools and ready for new tools _.

Beautiful reminder These visual reminders are up to help us remember.. we feel ALL THE TIME. We are becoming literate in our feelings. Not acknowledging my feelings builds more chaos in our household - dis-regulation and upsets ensue. Naming my/our feelings helps us move through them and be more present in life.

Identifies the where of emotions We've been using the Time-in Toolkit as a family for 6 years now and shared it with a local daycare school. The 4 year olds loved drawing an individual Peacemaker card of the day as part of circle time (and oddly enough, it was usually the EQ skill they'd be practicing that day) and mapping it onto the big poster. The emotions chart also helped them a lot. At home my favorite chart is the "Peacemakers feel many emotions" because I noticed that the location of the feeling in my body corresponds to that chart (and really helps distinguish between frustration (I can't do it) and disappointment (you won't help me do it) allowing me to be a more graceful, peaceful, empathic mother to my own spicy children. It is displayed in my kitchen next to a few bottles of bubbles, the door to outside, and the cupboard that holds the playdoh and lotion (the strategies we found most useful for regulating our emotions). I recommend this to many of my friends with preschoolers or spicy children. Too many of us (adults included) just don't know how to explain how we're feeling, much less what to do about those feelings. This program taught me, my children, and others exactly that.

Special Education Hi! I'm Blair. I'm a stepmother, mother, and educator and we've been using the Time-In ToolKit:registered: in our home for 4 years and in my classroom for 3 years. I even shared my experience with our school-based therapist and she now uses it in her office with students! While it is geared towards small children, I've even found it useful with children in middle school!

Beautiful, Gentle, Visual Reminders Thank you for these incredible posters! We have these in our official Calm Down/Take 5 spot and in a play area. It’s so easy for upset littles to point and ask for what they need. As they get older, we build in the rest of the ToolKit for emotional awareness and coping skills. These have been a gift for our whole family.

An essential in the parenting journey I am a physician and mom of two. I don't have time for all of the parenting blogs and books and tools... so I have to choose carefully and wisely. This is the one resource that has made such a big difference. The tools included have helped us (as parents) learn how to teach emotional IQ, and how to help our kids self regulate and process emotions. The kids love it. We cherish the calming corner we have created in our home and at this stage our kids naturally gravitate towards it anytime they feel they want some space or somewhere to unwind. We cherish that we now know hot o do a "time in" - because time outs never worked with our strong willed child, and only made things worse. I cannot recommend this toolkit enough. We are so grateful to the creators of Generation Mindful for creating resources so valuable in our parenting journey.

A wonderful SEL took This tool kit has been an amazing way for my children & students to practice identifying how they are feeling and choose strategies to help themselves feel better. It’s been particularly helpful after the pandemic as kids learn how to navigate new experiences and feelings.

Time-in Toolkit to the rescue! I am a mom to a wonderfully sensitive 5 year old and we have been using the time in tool kit since she was 3. It allows her to realize what a super-power sensitivity really is, and encourages her to feel and process in a safe space where all emotions are welcome. It has not only given her confidence within herself, but it has given me confidence as a parent in those times where I used to feel overwhelmed. Cant recommend it enough!

I love telling other moms about this tool! This is one of the best tools to foster Emotional Intelligence in children (and adults!). I love everything about it which is why I tell NEW moms about it as much as I can!

Beautiful toolkit I have been using the time-in toolkit with both my elementary students and my own children for years. The kit is perfect for teaching children of all ages appropriate and healthy coping skills. I cannot speak highly enough about this tool- it is the most complete and useful one I have come across in my career as a counselor.

We love our calming corner! We bought the time in toolkit when my son was a baby. We’ve practiced using it ever since, describing how he might be feeling and using the calming strategies. This January, I gave birth to our second son who needed to spend some time in the NICU. Our now 4 year old made sure we packed his calming corner posters, and he referenced them almost daily while we had to live in a different city for a few weeks. He would invite his grandmas, who were both staying with us, over to them and ask how they were feeling. It has been a huge help to our family and I can’t imagine not having it!

Time in Toolkit Review My time in tool kit came with so many great resources that I am excited to use with my four-year-old son. Materials are high-quality and colorful.

Thank you for this whole kit. For our oldest (now 11 years old), this set was life-changing for him to get in touch with his body and his feelings, and be connected with us parents about his feelings, rather than bottle them up until they explode outward. He's an adoptee with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and more, and we look back at before the toolkit and after the toolkit as opening up paths of possibilities for flourishing for our family. We hope to introduce our 7 year old adoptee to the Calming Corner now.

Thank you for all you — Thank you for all you do. Your calming corner was seriously a shot in the dark and possibly a last-ditch effort (we were at a complete loss at this point) to help our adopted 8 year old son from Thailand who doesn't even speak English. He has benefited from your calming corner TREMENDOUSLY! You would love it. Without speaking English, he wakes up in the morning and asks everyone in the house if they are happy, calm, sad or angry:)) just WOW AND THANK YOU!

A Positive Start We started to set up our calm corner last night when my 7 yo son (with autism) was struggling to self-regulate while watching a basketball game in which his team was losing. I invited him to help me set up our calm corner. He identified that he was feeling sad and that drawing would help him calm. It wasn’t long until our 4 yo took interest and started to help making it cozy with blankets, pillows ans stuffed animals. The two then drew together for at least an hour in our calm corner and both said they were feeling calm and happy as they went to bed.

Saves time Certainly saves time if you can't get it together to make your own.
