What Our Customers Are Saying

“This morning while getting ready for preschool my 4-year-old kept saying he didn't want to go and was refusing to get ready. I was starting to lose my patience but saw our Calming Strategies chart on the wall. I asked my son what he wanted to do to feel more calm. He chose to squeeze a ball. So we did it together and both calmed down! Then we were then able to finish getting ready and he brought the ball in the car to squeeze on the way to school. Thank you Generation Mindful!”

“I have been working with my 3-year-old on regulating herself and her emotions. She loves going to the wall and picking a calming strategy even when she's really upset or I can remind her to go to her wall. She has since been able to identify more emotions in others. It has helped our communication and she can tell me what she's feeling and what she may need from me or just a minute to herself. I definitely recommend it.”

Amazing resource for any family or school!
The calming corner strategies poster was a game changer in our home. My daughter has big feelings, and responds best when offered clear choices and a little co-regulation. It’s a tool the helped everyone- even my husband and other family members to all slow down, take a breath and the respond in a more responsive way; rather than a reactive way.
I love it so much the I have been ordering the posters for some daycare (center and group family) that I work with as an infant and toddler mental health consultant. The material you offer are also my go to when taking with parents about how to best respond to big feeling and even the little ones- bc they are all important!!!!

This is a wonderful way to teach my three year old about emotions! Since using his strategies poster he is able to identify what he is feeling. When he’s upset now, I catch him taking deep breaths on his own!

Gives son confidence and calm!
My 4 yr old, spirited boy loves this poster. It helps him focus on things he CAN do, rather than on the knee-jerk reactions he wants to continue you.
Thank you for allowing him to find what works for jim personally.... giving him self confidence in choosing his reactionary behavior.

Incredible Tool For Practicing Emotional Regulation In A Safe Place
My three year daughter wanted to kick her brother out of anger because she tripped over the toys they were playing with. She blamed him for the fall. I explained to her that this was an accident and that hitting others hurts and is scary.
She then went over and pointed at the sad-angry emotion on the chart. Then picked a calming strategy which was to read a book.
We have been implementing the How Do I Feel and the My Feelings chart daily. The size is perfect for little ones. I use it to also check in throughout the day even when she is happy or calm. We practice taking breaths too!
Bookshelf tip: If you’re like me and want to change up books biweekly but can’t afford to buy them all, go explore your local library and request books. If you have never done this, it’s as easy peasy as either calling or emailing your local library with the book request. This not only helps you save money and have more of a variety, but you support authors by asking the library to purchase copies of their books. It’s a win-win for all!

This poster is a great size and is thoughtfully designed! My three year olds were immediately interested and are already starting to use this visual aid when they’re having big feelings. They are expressing themselves verbally (or just by pointing) and choosing their own coping strategies, rather than having a tantrum. I’m extremely happy I have this tool to work on such an important life skill!

KidWings Nature School loves this poster!
We LOVE our new Calming Strategy poster as it is a wonderful visual for kids to see the different feelings that we all have at one moment or another while also giving the various creative options so that we may use to calm ourselves.

So helpful for my little with big feelings.
My daughter has learned so much about her own feelings and appropriate coping strategies with the use of this poster. She has very big feelings and I love watching her work through them with deep breathing and water breaks rather than yelling or aggressions. I am so proud of her.

It works
I have been working with my 3-year-old on regulating herself and her emotions. I had been wanting this poster for some time. It's framed in the hallway at her eye level where we walk passed it several times. She loves going to the wall and picking a calming strategy even when she's really upset or I can remind her to go to her wall. She has since been able to identify more emotions in others. It has helped our communication and she can tell me what she's feeling and what she may need from me or just a minute to herself. The poster has been a good little "time out" for both of us to take a breath. I definitely recommend it.

Fostering emotional intelligence
I bought this poster for the "calm down corner" of our bedroom. The paper and print quality are excellent, and despite the experience of another reviewer, the poster I received is, in fact, 20" by 30." I found a great frame for it at Michael's.

Love! Love! Perfect for helping our little guys find calm.
We have this hanging in our "Time In" area for our three little boys to have a way to talk about when they are upset and how to calm down without hitting or acting out. It does a beautiful job walking them (and us parents) through the process of naming emotions and choosing a skills to change how they feel in the moment (e.g., having a drink or taking calming breaths). My only complaint is the advertised size is incorrect - our poster was 12" by 18", not 20" by 30." Size is still fine for us, but annoying to find frame I bought was not sized correctly because of misinformation in description.
