Kids Love Them, but a Goof on the Dolphin Tail
My kids love the Snugglebuddies we got (lion, dolphin, and owl). Since they are still young, the Snugglebuddies are the tool we use the most! The owl is my personal favorite, almost like a pillow with a nice large pocket on the back. The lion seems a little smaller then the dolphin and the owl and the feeling emojis almost don't fit in the pocket on the back. The dolphin is very cute and the pocket is slightly bigger then the lion so the feeling emojis don't seem to be spilling out, but the tail fin is shaped like a shark's tail. The tail fins should spread horizontally because dolphins are mammals. My kids are not bothered by these details yet, but the dolphin drives my husband and me crazy.

My 2 and 4 year old bring the other’s snugglebuddies to them when they are upset and the 2-year-old loves to go through the emotions of the tags. My 4-year-old daughter actually talked a 3-year-olds friend through his emotions using her snugglebuddies. These are amazing resources!

We received our SnuggleBuddies last night and my boy, who will be 3 later this month, is obsessed with the self assessment. Already knows what the color is, and assesses himself and my husband and I (and or dog lol) throughout the day. He brings it everywhere. The SnuggleBuddies are LOVED!
The Snuggle Buddies are BRILLIANT. I got one each for the 9, 6, and 3 year old. They each have a favorite that they immediately navigated toward. And the 3 year old uses her Lion by holding onto the little feelings tab and taking deep breaths.

Making a Difference!
Today my daughter had show-and-tell at pre-k. She was so proud to bring her "feelings owl" to school and teach her friends all about it! Sometimes I wonder if it makes a difference, but when she was so proud to have shown it to her friends and teach them about it, I knew it really has been making a difference for her even if I can't always see it!

We haven't even *received* our plushie yet (it's on it's way) and already my three year old has had two conversations with me about feelings because of it! She saw me watching the free webinar video and immediately noticed the animals and asked about them. I explained that they were special for talking about feelings and we looked at the colors and feelings chart on the website. I told her she could show me the emoji if she couldn't explain how she was feeling and she was like "I need that." So it was ordered. Again today, she asked unprompted if we could talk about the color emojis again and we went through the emotions. She's been coming to me and saying how she feels all day instead of just screaming!
Seriously, people, we don't even own this item yet and it's already making a difference in our house. Can't wait for the time-in toolkit!

My boys love them. It has been the easiest and most rewarding thing to simply have my older son tell which feeling he's feeling before bed. I was so surprised last night that he said he was sad and angry because he wanted to build his new Lego set at 9 pm at night and I was just in awe and I told him how great it is that he knows he can have more than one feeling at a time because I don’t ever remember him giving me two feelings at once like that. Long story short, he went to bed peaceful and I am so glad I have an emotionally intelligent boy who will one day be an emotionally intelligent man. This truly has been a gift.

My 2year old LOVES her calming corner!! She totally understands her snuggle buddy and it actually works to help her identify her emotions. When I was babysitting my 10 mo neighbor and she started to cry my 2yr immediately ran to get her snuggle buddy and asked the baby how she was feeling!

I come from childhood trauma- emotional and physical and my husband comes from a lack of emotional stability. We both come from a lack of understanding how to “feel.” I’ve been in therapy for years now learning how to ground myself and feel what I feel and be compassionate with myself in the process. SnuggleBuddies to the Rescue
Rafael loves his Calming Strategies poster.
Uses it often. We moved him out of his room temporarily into the guest room as he has some construction going on in his bathroom from a neighbor’s leak (we moved everything out as it’s dusty work) and he specifically asked to move the poster into his new room “if I get mad or sad and the poster is in my room how can I calm down?”
Then today a beautiful moment:
He was out of sorts, I was out of energy and this morning left my hubby to handle the big feelings which didn’t go so well. Eventually hubby left for work and I had to get myself ready. Told Rafael I would be back in a moment and left him in his bedroom in his YELLOW brain. (I honestly needed to step away and take a breathing moment for myself). Went back in and found him laying on his back in his bed covered in all his plushies. He had systematically laid every single one starting at his feet up his body. All I could see was his head and arms. I knew immediately he was using this as a calming strategy. I gently asked him what this was all about & he told me “I was feeling angry and sad so I put my toys next to me and now I feel better”.
Speechless was I. I told him how proud I was of him using his toys to help him calm down when I stepped out and then went on to try and empathize as best I could on what I had understood to have upset him. It was a lovely moment.

My 17 yr old daughter has autism and is bipolar and one of the things she struggles with the most is understanding and speaking about her feelings with the help of her new dolphin she is now able to communicate better her feelings and feel understood.

I can tell you what the SnuggleBuddies feel like. My 3 year-old kept saying his new friend is "so soft, like a marshmallow". He was too excited to sleep. Owly is my son's favorite
Thank you for teaching my almost 2-year-old about feelings. He carries his "owly" all over. It's his favorite stuffed animal. He can tell the feeling for each emoji. And will say "really really sad" when he's feeling sad. When he's thrown a toy because he's upset, I'll explain that he needs to calm down. He'll take "owly" and go to the calming corner. He sits and takes breaths or "counts." I NEVER imagined a 2-year-old doing this. I'm so thankful for all they are learning...and I am too!
The SnuggleBuddies are a huge help!
Snuggle Buddies are helping us to become a calmer and more mindful family. I am so pleased that we have these soft, huggable toys to help my kids reflect on and learn about emotions. With 4 small kids, it is sometimes hard to find time to sit with them individually. Snuggle Buddies are helping this become part of our nightly routine.
For my 4-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl, we sit together and use the emotion icons to talk about our day. I ask them, what made you feel angry? What made you feel sad? My kids touch the Emojis as they tell me about different parts of their day, and we talk about how we can respond to these emotions.
My 2-year-old twins won’t sleep without their Snuggle Buddies nearby. Since they are so young, I have been using them to help teach the words for their emotions. We touch each shape and I say the word for the emotion and make a face. My daughters repeat the word. I know that this is work that they are doing at preschool as well, and I am trying to reinforce it at home.
I also love the weekly emails I have been getting as part of the Generation Mindful family. They come with ideas for how you can deal with behaviors, freebies, and more. I save most of them to reference later.

3yo and 4yo both love their snuggle buddies
The concept-
We have been using the snuggle buddies for about a month. We have incorporated them into our bedtime routine and whenever the children get worked up or sad we grab them, calm down and wait to discuss while snuggling them. I've already noticed a difference in my children naming their emotions more frequently and thinking of ways to deal with them and recover from negative feelings.
Physical-
Pros: they are well-made, very soft and the children love bringing them around when we go out.
Cons: the emotion pillows get easily tangled and do not easily fit into the pocket. My three year old occasionally gets frustrated dealing with the emotion pillows.
Where do we access the three to five minute bedtime mantras?
I recommend these frequently to friends and family.

I love the work being done at GenM
We received our SnuggleBuddies several weeks ago and my 5yr old has eagerly embraced it into part of our day. Using them in combination with the Feelings card set has deepened his understanding of his emotions and the emotions of others and helped him learn new coping strategies. As a mom, professional in the mental health community, and children's book author I love the work being done at GenM and am eager to see what is in this organization's future.

Fridays are usually meltdown madness at our house, but our snuggle buddies arrived today (in Zurich, Switzerland) and Eric (5) was so captivated with his new Balu the Bear, that he sat for 25 mins and drew a picture of him! My kids LOVE theirs!!! We have talked about the various emotions they are feeling now fluently and easily for the past 12 hours, LOL!! Honestly, they took to the color shapes as meaningful VERY quickly and I am able to use the other emotion chart to help my 6 year old expand beyond the 4 basic emotions.
