Undone

It’s easy to judge ourselves by what we think we “should” or “should not” be, rather than accepting who we truly are. If you know what it means to feel not enough, I hope this poem speaks to you.

UNDONE:

What if I was done,

Complete,

Leaving me incomplete,

Longing to be

A work in progress.

I want to live in the sticky, sloppy, slippery now,

Potential, yet realized,

Hidden in the folds of me.

I want to roll in the uncertainty of freedom and choice,

To remember each breath, and in each, to know that I am love.

I am enough.

I am rough around the edges

And that is a beautiful thing.
